In photos that would have been believable had they involved Lindsay Lohan, photoshop skills were put to use to bring Selena Gomez to Turkey.

On one billboard in Talas, a town in Turkey's central Kayseri province, the former Disney star can be seen in a pink hijab, standing alongside three other students. Obviously, Gomez didn't pose for the promotional university photo nor does she wear the hijab. But, the billboard wanted to make it seem as though that's the case. Either that or the marketers behind the campaign really worship Gomez's face. A message is scrawled across the billboard, which appears to be from the mayor of the town Mustafa Yalçin, as he welcomes new students to Talas.

Several accounts on social media have been stating that the photos have been edited and that they are far from being close to reality. Many are almost positive that Gomez's authorization had not been granted prior to her photo's usage. But, that doesn't mean some people didn't actually fall into the trap of photoshopped images and fake news.

Well, it's not the first time Gomez appears on billboards in Turkey

It seems Turkish marketers are a bit too obsessed with Gomez as her photos have appeared on numerous billboards and posters in the past. In one, Gomez can be seen hugging Demi Lovato in an advert for a female dormitory in the country.

Gomez' photo has also been used to pimp some people's rides in Turkey, as you can see in the photo below. Her face has also appeared on sex workers' calling cards in the country. Who knows if Gomez has actually seen the photos online or not.

It's not just her face, though. The artist's hair has prompted marketers to use her photos to encourage people to buy Pantene shampoo.

Her Pantene adverts have also been dubbed in the Turkish language ... because it seems as though Gomez's face works like a magnet in the country.
