Desert scenes taking place on the fictional planet of Jakku were shot in Abu Dhabi.
But now, the UAE gets more bragging rights.
The film is set for release in the UAE on Dec. 17, one day before the United States.
That's over one month before audiences in China will get to see it on Jan. 29.
