Twitter user @blessedbooker recently caused quite a stir on the micro-blogging platform after comparing Coachella - an annual music festival in the U.S. - to the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, otherwise known as hajj.
It all started when the user tweeted out a question to her followers, in what seems to be an attempt to poke fun at how religiously people take the music festival, which read:
"Is Coachella like the white people hajj?"
The tweet has garnered over 14,000 re-tweets at the time of writing.
"The Ummah is shook" at such a comparison

Others were wondering whether the user actually knows what hajj is

While some were crying from laughter

A few did not find the tweet funny at all
"From what I've seen hajj has a better crowd"
Others used this moment to make on-point jokes

The jokes were actually endless
"I'm done"

Others did not appreciate the comparison
"Oh please, hajj is diverse"
"Their (Coachella) spiritual goal is cultural appropriation"

Simply put: "nothing could ever be equivalent to hajj"
