Snapchat just revealed incredible new 3D World Lenses

Snap inc. unveiled the biggest update to their Snapchat lenses on Tuesday: 3D world lenses. 

The update was announced in a statement published on the social media company's website and revealed that the new 3D world lenses enable users to explore and interact with animations they see onscreen, like never before.

The technology is similar to the augmented reality used in Pokémon Go, and makes it seem as if animated graphics in a camera lens are appearing in real life.

To activate the new lenses, all you'll need to do is place your camera in rear-facing mode and tap the camera screen.

Snapchat was founded by Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy in September 2011.

In 2016, the company was re-branded as Snap Inc. in order to include both Snapchat and their new product Spectacles, under a single company.

Snap Inc. defines itself as a camera company and while it has yet to release one, the company is changing the way we use our camera phones to engage with the world around us.
