Filming has wrapped up on the biggest TV series to ever be shot in the United Arab Emirates, "Qalb Al Adala" (Justice), and the legal drama is now in post-production with an expected premiere later this year.
Starring Fatima Al Taei and Mansoor Alfeeli, the Arabic-language show follows a young Emirati lawyer embarking on a career as she struggles to step out of the shadows of her father, a top lawyer in the UAE. The show focuses on the young woman’s relationship with her family and the cases she takes on in court.
"Qalb Al Adala" has a cast of more than 150 actors. More than 1,000 local extra were also used, as the series filmed across Abu Dhabi, including in Yas Island, Sweihan, Al Reem Island, Al Gurm and Downtown Abu Dhabi.
“Abu Dhabi provided some fantastic locations to shoot in, bringing an abundance of job opportunities to the region," production manager Alwiya Thani said. "We were ecstatic to welcome esteemed stars from the Middle East for starring roles throughout the episodes and we think the audience are going to have fun spotting their favorite places and actors on screen.”
Guest appearances include Emiratis Abdullah Al Junaibi and Saif Al Ghanem; Lebanese singer Nicole Saba and star of Lebanese soap opera Al Layla El Akhira Carlos Azar; and Saudi actor Khaled Alburaiki.
"Qalb Al Adala" is produced by Image Nation, the production arm of Abu Dhabi Media.
“Completing filming on this pioneering series which has seen collaboration from the area’s finest entities and international talents is a fantastic start to 2016," Image Nation CEO Michael Garin said. "Producing a series of this caliber has been an asset to Abu Dhabi and we are confident that this will be the start of a successful ongoing series.”
Image Nation enlisted the help of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department to make the legal drama as authentic as possible.
The 20-episode first season is expected to begin airing in late 2016.
