Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum decided to drop by Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport on Thursday, along with his son, Sheikh Hamdan aka Fazza, just days after the electronics ban was lifted on all Emirates flights going to the U.S.
And as you can imagine, it was as chill as ever.
The two had an entire entourage with them, and Sheikh Mohammed greeted passengers all throughout
Sheikh Mohammed began his tour at the departures hall at Concourse 3, making a stop at Emirates airline's check-in counters, baggage screening facilities, and passport counters, according to Gulf News.
Gulf News referred to the visit as an "inspection," which took place a day after commander-in-chief of Dubai Police Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri examined different parts of the same terminal.
And then the two took a ride on the airport train!
The visit comes just one day after the electronics ban on laptops and other electronic devices was lifted on board Emirates flights to the United States.
Emirates was given the green light to lift the electronics ban after the airline "implemented new security measures to meet the requirements of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security."
"Emirates has been working hard in coordination with various aviation stakeholders and local authorities to implement heightened security measures and protocols that meet the requirements of the US Department of Homeland Security’s new security guidelines for all US bound flights," an Emirates spokesperson said in a statement.
