Shakira's Spanish FC Barcelona player Gerard Piqué visited Lebanon this week. That's right; the famous footballer even hung out with none other than Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
Piqué shared his excitement in a tweet on Monday which included a selfie he took with the country's PM ... with a caption that reads:
"Enjoying Beirut."
Of course, the news was met with social commentary on Twitter, with many resorting to humor and sarcasm in response to the photo.
Mock-up thought bubbles came to life
Questions about whether Piqué was referred to as "m3allim" when welcomed were raised
Others invested a bit of time in Photoshop for the sake of the occasion
Teeth comparisons were in order
And justifications soon followed
Some had other priorities: #WAYNASHAKIRA
Others were flat-out jealous
Of course, some pointed out Piqué's real lookalike
And most people were just laughing ... for no explainable reason
What is he doing in Lebanon anyways?
On Tuesday, a few Barcelona players including Pique, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba took part in a friendly match to mark the retirement of the Lebanese footballer Roda Antar.
The match took place at the Rafic El-Hariri Stadium in Saida, Lebanon.
