Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud travelled to Moscow this week, becoming the first reigning Saudi monarch to visit Russia.

The "historic" trip is expected to see King Salman and Vladimir Putin touch on various issues and consider "joint steps to further develop bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian areas," according to CNBC.

The two leaders are also presumed to discuss international matters including conflicts in the Middle East as well as sign joint investment deals worth more than $3 billion.

But, the two leaders' future plans aren't exactly what stole the spotlight.

Neither did the fact that King Salman descended the plane using a pair of golden escalators ... because it was definitely not a first. His Japan trip ring a bell?

The topic of discussion revolved around the matter that the escalator suddenly stopped working, forcing King Salman to walk down the steps.

A video of the incident began circulating online, sending Twitter into a total meltdown of sorts...

First things first, watch the video:

Soon after the video began making the rounds online, conspiracy theories came to life...

Accusations against Russia came next...

Some justifications on those accusations soon followed...

Puns ... puns ... and puns

"This is like a political version of ... zaffa"

REALITY: "King Salman forced to walk the stairs down"

Valid questions were raised: is Saudi Arabia flat?

The struggle is real, though...
