Late on Monday, Makkah's General Directorate of Education announced that all school classes will be suspended across the governorate on Tuesday due to unstable weather conditions.
Soon after, education authorities in Taif and Jeddah issued similar announcements.
The news comes hours after the kingdom's General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection warned that heavy rain and winds are expected to hit different parts of the kingdom.
It is expected that the weather conditions will continue to affect several Saudi cities until late Wednesday.
