The latest Global Financial Centers Index, sponsored by the Qatar Financial Center Authority, was released earlier this week, ranking Doha in the top 20 leading finance centers from across the globe.

At the top of the list are all the usual suspects, with New York City ranked first, followed by London and then Hong Kong. After London, only one other European city made the top 10, with Zurich coming it at nine.

There were 82 finance centers included in the study, with each analyzed based on instrumental factors such as indices as well as responses to an online questionnaires.

As for the Middle East, the study concluded that financial centers in the region fluctuate, with Riyadh, Doha and Manama rising in the rankings. Dubai and Abu Dhabi saw modest declines.
