Late on Thursday, National Geographic Photography listed Saudi photographer Ammar Al Amir's photo of the Kaaba during this year's pilgrimage as a 'Top Shot' on their website.
Earlier this week, the still was featured on the publication's Daily Dozen section, which includes 12 photos chosen by editors from thousands of recent uploads.
The shot captures the "scene of pilgrims walking up to the Kaaba, which is a building at the center of Islam’s most sacred mosque located in Mecca, Hejaz, Saudi Arabia."
The still has been called: "The Kaaba's Flower Garden" by many on social media, because it features thousands of pilgrims carrying colorful umbrellas.
