In a horrific attack last night in Nice, a lorry ploughed through a crowd celebrating Bastille Day, the French national day, killing at least 84 people and wounding many others.
The truck driver was shot by police after the attack and has been identified by the French media as a 31-year-old French-Tunisian resident of Nice, according to The Independent .
The attack on southern French city is one of many, including attacks in Turkey, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Jordan, that have taken a massive toll around the world.
As always, people from the Middle East stand with and for all those affected by this attack.
Unfortunately, with the rise of Islamophobia, Muslims are repeatedly forced to explain that Islam has nothing to do with the terror attacks. Time and again, people are combating the hate and prejudice by showing the world that acts of terror have no religion. Terrorism has no religion.
Of course, the hate and prejudice doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Some of the most hateful comments after the Nice attack reveal that Islamophobia is shamefully at a peak.
Newt Gingrich called for the "testing" of every single person in the United States with a Muslim background and for the deportation of all those who believe in the Shariah...
He later received a lot of criticism
Donald Trump also had to share some hate as well...
It wasn't just the politicians though. Everyday people are sharing some of the most hateful comments too...
But, just as people of all religions are victims of these horrific, disgusting attacks, so are Arabs. So are Muslims.
In the end we're all in this together. Let's #PrayForNice
Last year, a series of attacks took the lives of 130 people in Paris.
