Moroccan Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech recently took home the Dutch Footballer of the Year award, winning hearts all over the world.
The 25-year-old footballer was presented the Gouden Schoen (Golden Boot), becoming the third Moroccan to win the award.
Karim El Ahmadi took home the prestigious award in 2017, as did Mounir El Hamdaoui in 2009.
"Ziyech is a piece of jewelry for Dutch football," said Erik ten Hag, coach of Dutch professional football club Ajax, according to BBC.
"I think he plays football in a nice team, with lots of good footballers around him and it runs smoothly, which gives him pleasure and motivation to achieve even more," he added.
"Honored to win the Eredivisie Golden shoe"
After receiving the golden boot, Ziyech took to Instagram express his gratitude
The footballer played with Morocco's national team during the World Cup earlier this year. Outside of the football tournament, the 25-year-old assumes the position of attacking midfielder with Ajax.
During the last season, he managed to score nine goals and 14 assists for the Dutch club.
