Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid, son of Dubai ruler, dies of heart attack

Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum died Saturday morning of a heart attack at the age of 33.

Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum died Saturday morning of a heart attack. He was the son of Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE's vice president and prime minister as well as Dubai's ruler. The prince was 33, and is the older brother of Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan.

UAE officials and citizens took to social media to express their condolences:

Three days of mourning across the UAE were declared and all flags at government buildings and institutions to be lowered to half-mast. Prayers will be conducted at Zayed Mosque Saturday evening, with the burial scheduled for the next day at Umm Hurair cemetery in Burr Dubai. According to the Dubai Media Office, work at governmental institutions will go on as usual.
