Dubai Police arrested six Chinese men Tuesday for reportedly having stolen millions of dirhams worth of goods in a series of villa raids in Dubai and around the UAE.
7Days reported that 12 villas in Dubai and 58 in other parts in the UAE were robbed. Police said the gang would look for villas in upscale areas including Jumeirah, Safa, and Emirates Hills and wait for the opportune moment to break in.

The Dubai Police chief, Gen. Khamis Mattar Al Muzaina, said that extra security measures were enforced after receiving several reports of theft. Having increased undercover police patrolling, police were able to capture two members of the gang, who had been wandering in Al Barsha after midnight.
The police found gloves and a bag with "tools used to break open doors," according to Muzaina.
Two other Chinese men were arrested after confessing to having transported the thieves to and from their apartments in International City. Raids of the apartments uncovered a map of luxury areas the gang had used to target potential marks, and millions of dirhams' worth of stolen goods. Two more arrests were also issued.
General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, assistant chief of police for Criminal Investigations, said that the gang had also buried some of their ill-gotten gains in secluded sandy areas near Dragon Mart and close to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road.
The men's case has been transferred to Dubai Public Prosecution and await charges.
