Earlier this week, a UAE court sentenced a 24-year-old Pakistani and an Indian aged 36, to six months in jail for robbing a prostitute in April, Khaleej Times reported.
According to the English language daily, the two Dubai-based men "picked up a prostitute at a very late hour and had sex with her in the car they were traveling in before robbing her of her cash."
The duo reportedly refused to pay the woman the sum that had been agreed upon between them.
They also stole 600 dirhams ($163) from her purse, before kicking her out of their car.
The woman has now been deported
Speaking to prosecutors, a policeman who received the woman's complaint said:
"She led us to the location where the defendants picked her up from. It happened to be near a hotel and thanks to the surveillance cameras, we could track the accused through the registration plate of their car."
Possibly due to the fact that the woman was working in the country illegally, she first accused the two men of kidnap and rape.
However, after further investigations, it turned out that these accusations were false, and she admitted that she had been working as a prostitute.
"Through investigation, it came to the fore that the woman went willingly with the men and that she was working as a prostitute," Khaleej Times wrote.
The two men were convicted of theft by the Court of First Instance and will be deported after completing their jail terms.
The woman has already been deported for violating the country's strict laws against prostitution.
