The former king of Malaysia gave up the throne to wed a Russian model mid last year ... only to divorce her months later.

The former Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan recently divorced Oksana Voevodina, who is 22 years his junior. The ex-king, 49, apparently divorced the model under the controversial Islamic practice of instant divorce aka triple talaq.

The 27-year-old model recently posted a romantic video of the two of them dancing amid the divorce claims. She did not address the divorce anywhere on social media and insisted the two were still married last week.

"He cares about me and our family, and I will take care of him, and of course I want to be the last person in his life, and I want to live with him until the end of my life," the model said in the video.

However, the ex-king's lawyer, Koh Tien Hua, confirmed the divorce claims and raised doubts about the child's - who was born in May - biological father.

"There is no objective evidence as yet as to the biological father of the child," the lawyer told The Strait Times.

The former Miss Moscow, who also goes by the name Rihana Oksana Petra, marked her son's turning two months old in an Instagram post on Monday.

"I am so proud that Malaysian blood flows in the veins of my son and I will do everything for him to grow worthy of your love," her caption read.

The divorce, according to The Strait Times, took place on June 22 and was done in accordance with Sharia Laws. The Kelantan Sharia Court issued the divorce certificate on July 1.

Voevodina reportedly converted to Islam in 2018 before tying the knot with the monarch of the Muslim-majority nation. This came as Islam is the official religion of Malaysia, whose federal constitution states:

"Islam is the religion of the Federation, but other religions may be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the Federation."

The constitution also stipulates that the ruler of each state serves as the "Head of the Religion of Islam" in his respective state.
