American actress Linsday Lohan's faith has been making headlines for the past few year, with people speculating that she has converted to Islam.
As Muslims observe the holy month of Ramadan, by fasting from dawn to dusk, many were wondering whether the Mean Girls star would join in on the annual holy ritual.
According to her manager, Lohan has actually been fasting for Ramadan, but her conversion to Islam has not yet been confirmed.
Scott Carlsen, Lohan's manager, said that she has been observing Ramadan while living in one of the largest yachts in the south of France, Mic reported.
Lohan has been cruising the Mediterranean aboard the enormous 86 Chakra yacht since the Cannes Film Festival, which took place during May 17 – May 28.
"The ocean brings me a sense of peace and calmness and I am totally obsessed with boats and being on the water so this was the perfect choice for this holiday and to celebrate Ramadan," Lohan told Mic in an email statement.
And what's Ramadan without big feasts? The Hollywood starlet took the Ramadan spirit to full force, inviting friends over - including Salma Hayek and Pamela Anderson - to break fast with her.
"I really enjoyed sharing feasts with friends," Lohan told Mic. "It brings a beautiful feeling of community and peace, it really made me happy and appreciative of life."
Lohan had kicked off the holy month with an Instagram post wishing her followers a "Happy Ramadan".
Ever since 2015, when the Mean Girls star was spotted carrying a Quran, international media and fans have been speculating about her relationship with Islam. Since then, the actress has been spending a lot of time in the Middle East, hanging out with Muslim friends and leaders, volunteering with refugees and occasionally wearing a hijab.
This January, Lohan wiped her Instagram and Twitter accounts clean, adding the Islamic greeting "Alaikum salam" ("Peace be unto you") to her bio on Instagram.
Although Lohan said she has not converted to Islam, she told a Kuwaiti interviewer in February that she found "solace" in the Muslim holy book.
Lohan said she has read the Quran, prayed in an Islamic fashion and tried fasting for Ramadan for three days.
"It was hard but it was good. It felt good," Lohan said about her fasting experience.
