Traveling in on one of Egypt's trains is not an experience one would want to survive again. However, that statement may not be as accurate when talking about the country's very first air-conditioned – with actual AC working – and Wi-Fi equipped train that was just launched Monday.

The train, which was partially assembled locally and with more than 50 percent of funding came from Egyptian contributions, will transport passengers from Cairo to Alexandria. The train was created by the Arab Organization for Industrialization and a Chinese Company, Nagwa Al Abeer, the spokeswoman for the Egyptian National Railways, told Egyptian Streets.

Primie Minster Ibrahim Mehleb and Transport Minister Hani Dahi are expected to the inauguration ceremony today. The train is scheduled to leave Cairo's Ramses Station at 3 PM Cairo time and arrive in Alexandria at 7:30 PM.

Egyptians rejoice, the highly anticipated train will also have a medic on board at all times in case of emergencies along with surveillance cameras installed in all cabins.

Better yet, there will be a dining room area in which passengers will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy a wonderful meal. The prices for train are relatively cheap at 100 LE for a first class ticket and 70 EGP for a second class ticket.
