Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of Free Patriotic Movement, Gebran Bassil, is being trolled on Twitter yet again.
This time, it's over a statement in which he said his ministry "will follow every single Lebanese national to the ends of the world."
The statement came in a tweet Bassil uploaded late on Friday to announce that Lebanon is opening two new embassies in Denmark and Norway, in addition to several consulates elsewhere.
Soon after he uploaded it, Lebanese tweeps noted a few ironies in the announcement and are now hilariously ridiculing it.
The tweet is still making the rounds online
"We made a decision to open two new embassies in Norway and Denmark and to also open a consulate in Dusseldorf, a German city where many Lebanese live. We're also going to open a consulate in Miami, USA, and we're going to follow every Lebanese national to the ends of the world to service them and connect them to their homeland."

"Leave them alone, don't ruin their lives"
People aren't excited over the announcement, to say the least
"For God's sake, stay away from me, leave me alone."
Some are reacting with sarcasm that's right on point

Others are just trying to escape the "Bassil's visits"

Because this actually makes more sense
"If you 'tie us up' to Lebanon in the first place, wouldn't it be better than forcing us to migrate, then following us wherever we go only to 'tie us up' to our homeland again?"
