In fact, Basra, Iraq and Mitribah, Kuwait may have experienced the hottest temperatures ever recorded in Earth's Eastern Hemisphere!!

Mitribah and Basra recorded temperatures of 54 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday respectively.

These temperatures would be the highest temperatures ever recorded on Earth outside of California's Death Valley, if verified.

They would definitely be the highest temperatures recorded in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Death Valley currently holds the world record, having recorded a temperature of 56.7 degrees Celsius back in 1913, although this record has been disputed.

Of course, everyone who lives in the Middle East knows that July is generally a hot month.

The average July temperatures for Basra and Mitribah hover around 46 degrees Celsius.

With the effects of Climate Change increasingly noticed around the world, scientist have suggested that temperatures in the Middle East are only set to rise.

oh-god

Some studies even suggest that parts of the region will become unlivable by the end of this century if humans don't make serious reforms soon.
