For the first time in the history of the United Nations, a World Humanitarian Summit  is set to take place in Istanbul on May 23 and 24.

The summit is a global call to action by Ban Ki-moon, United Nations Secretary-General, who aims to bring together communities affected by the crisis with global heads of state, the private sector and representatives of humanitarian organizations.

The summit hopes to re-inspire a commitment to humanity, encourage communities to take action, and provide attendees with guidance on how to handle crisis better.

"Together we will reinforce efforts to save lives and ensure human dignity for the millions of people affected by crisis," Ki-moon said in a video  message.

More than 125 million people are suffering from crisis around the world...

And global celebrities including Daniel Craig, Michael Douglas, and Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein are asking you to put humanity first...

"Because people are forced to make impossible choices every day"

Prior to the summit, people are joining a conversation on social media using the hashtag #ShareHumanity...
