An Israeli military court has just extended Ahed Tamimi’s detention, the 16-year-old Palestinian activist who was filmed slapping two Israeli soldiers outside her home in Nabi Saleh village.
Three days after the video was posted and went viral online, Tamimi was arrested at her home in a pre-dawn raid at 4 am by at least 30 Israeli soldiers.
She now faces charges of attacking soldiers and has been detained for over a week. Shortly after the initial incident, Tamimi’s mother was also arrested at an Israeli police station during a visit to her daughter.
Moments before the video was filmed, Israeli occupation soldiers shot Tamimi's 14-year-old cousin with a rubber-coated steel bullet point-blank in the head. Mohammad was left with severe injuries and had to be put under a medically induced coma for treatment.
"Ahed was telling the soldiers to get away from our home," Bassem, her father, said.
"She was trying to force them to leave to prevent the soldiers from hurting anyone else."
Many activists are claiming Mohammad’s injury is “crucial context” that has been purposely left out of many reports.
Other activists also noticed that Tamimi's Twitter account has just been deleted, though it remains unclear whether her account was suspended by Twitter as opposed to Tamimi deleting it herself.
Commenting on the issue, Tamimi's relative, Manal, thinks it wasn't an initiative taken by Tamimi herself.

According to RT, this isn't the first time Twitter collaborates with Israel. In 2016, Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked revealed that Twitter was removing content it deemed "harmful".
Speaking at a press conference in Hungary, Shaked said the social media giants were working to remove material that incites "violence or murder," according to The Times of Israel.
Despite multiple claims that Tamimi was being unfairly violent towards the Israeli soldiers, many people have expressed their support and solidarity.
