The latest winter season in Saudi Arabia has taken an unexpected turn on several occasions. From severe rainstorms to extremely low temperatures, things have become quite tough.

Earlier this week, temperatures in the kingdom's Al Taif governorate fell below zero degree Celsius in some of its cities. Saudis braving the cold had a lot to say about the conditions, and naturally took to Twitter in a humorous manner.

No one is used to this kind of cold in the kingdom

"This cold is just extreme, I swear."

"Our Taif has turned into Paris"

In some places, temperature dipped below 0 degrees Celsius

Saudis had the perfect posts for this weather

"Where did all this cold come from all of a sudden?"

The weather resulted in some hilarious memes

They were endless

And pretty right on point

Layers on layers of blankets are a must

"Me right now."

Some are getting ready for whatever is to come

"Ready for the cold."

Others won't move away from their heaters

Climate change is affecting countries across the Arab world including Saudi Arabia

Research conducted in recent years has warned that climate change will have severe consequences in the region.

A study released in 2016 found that hot weather extremes brought on by global climate change could make parts of the Middle East and North Africa uninhabitable by the end of the current century.

In the past few years, forecasters have recorded weather extremes during both winter and summer in Saudi Arabia.

Recent summer seasons also saw several countries across the region experience unprecedented heat waves
