After the United Nations recognized Arabic as one of the six official UN languages in 1973, annually, the world celebrates the language on December 18.
In 2010, the global organization dedicated a day in honor of the Arabic language, which is considered to be the 5th most spoken language around the world.
It takes an average of 1.69 years to learn Arabic ... and it seems as though the language is slowly losing its impact on the youth in the Arab and Muslim world. To combat this, a number of startups have launched campaigns in an effort to preserve it.
