"UOSSM would like to note that whatever raised funds that exceed the target of this campaign will be employed to extend the period of operating the AES as much as you can donate, and secure more lives as much as you devote," as mentioned on the crowdfunding page.
As one of the largest non-governmental organizations in Syria with more than 850 staff members and medical centers throughout Syria, Lebanon and Turkey, UOSSM launched AES, Ambulance and Evacuation System, back in 2012 in collaboration with the World Health Organization to take care of transporting injured civilians in a critical case to nearby health care facilities.
However, it seems as though support from the World Health Organization is at risk, as highlighted in the video. AES needs financial support to sustain their operations in check.
"With your efforts and ours, we will sustain our systems to continue operating. We will not let our 10,000 beneficiaries lose these services because of shortage in human or fuel resources," CEO of UOSSM says in the crowdfunding video.
"We will keep saving lives and defeating war. Our doctors, paramedics, and nurses, women and men are still defying war and building peace through saving the lives of everyone."
With the continuous airstrikes that have been hitting Aleppo and after UOSSM's primary health care center in Al Marjeh was struck by air forces, more than 1,800 patients will no longer benefit from health services in the center.
