Can you wax elegant about hunting rifles and birds? Well, you might just want to submit your verses to this Abu Dhabi poetry competition.

The Poetry Academy in Abu Dhabi has called for submissions in the "most beautiful poems in the description of birds and hunting gun[s]" category for the 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition.

Winners stand to gain 50,000 dirhams ($13,613).

Affiliated with the Cultural Program and Heritage Festivals Committee, the Poetry Academy competition aims to combine the classical art of poetry with the traditional sport of hunting for the exhibition, which will be held from September 9 to 12.

Hunting and poetry? It's basically the same thing anyway.

Submissions are due by Aug. 30, so make sure you start perfecting your poems from now!
