If you're a Zigi (Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik) fan, then you probably know all about the shade the couple has encountered for their on-and-off relationship. Hadid, however, is having none of it.
The 23-year-old Palestinian-American supermodel hit back at an Instagram user whose sole purpose of existence was to expose the couple as being "fake".
The Instagram account titled @exposingfakeeasszigiii - which has been taken down since - shared a community-sourced post which read:
"Whatever Zigi does for promo. Fact is that, Zayn is not going to follow Gigi or ever going [to] post her picture on his Instagram again."
Naturally, Hadid did not let it slide. Instead, she responded with a lengthy post to shut the haters down.
"Seems like you guys tag me in a new post every day, please stop. It's just negative"
Hadid went out of her way to clap back at the haters
"I just know what a beautiful world there is to go out and live in instead of trying to dissect a relationship between two people that you don't even know and that you do not see 99% of," Hadid wrote in the now-viral comment.
The Instagram user also supported the "fake relationship" theory by highlighting the fact that Malik does not even follow Hadid on Instagram. So, the supermodel decided to take it into her own hands to address this very theory...
"For someone who is virtually inactive on the app, I don't need his follow - my eyes are tattooed to his chest," she wrote
Back in March, the couple - who spent over two years together - broke up, confirming their split with heartfelt messages shared on social media.
At the time, the duo did not mention the reason behind their breakup but suggested the decision was amicable.
A source who spoke to a British news outlet said the two have "grown apart" and cited their "crazy work schedules that would put pressure on any relationship."
"They are no longer a couple but they do remain close and are supportive of each other," the source added.
But, it seems as though the couple is back on!
The two have been spotted kissing in New York City, cuddling on social media and even spent July 4th together.
