Furious 7 Puts Abu Dhabi in the Spotlight During Super Bowl

New Furious 7 spot showing off Abu Dhabi, Lykan HyperSport airs during Super Bowl.

Super Bowl XLIX was the biggest television event in United States' history - and Abu Dhabi got a bit of the spotlight thanks to the airing of a new teaser for Furious 7 that was partially shot in the Gulf emirate.

The 1:11 commercial, while shorter than the official teaser released in November, featured several new shots of Abu Dhabi scenes, including a dramatic shot of Vin Diesel jumping a Lykan HyperSport between the Etihad towers.

While the longer teaser focused more on the actors, especially Paul Walker, who died during production, the Superbowl promo features more air time for the cars, including the Lykan HyperSport from UAE-based luxury car manufacturer W Motors, incredible promotion for the company that's only in its second year of production. Ralph Debbas, founder of W Motors, will be speaking at STEP Conference on March 31, focusing on his journey as the first manufacturer of luxury sports cars in the Middle East.

Furious 7 is set for a April 3 world premiere. Watch the promo below.

Dubai Police Deny Burj Khalifa Fire, As Rumors Light up Social Media

A strange cloud formation on the Burj Khalifa led to speculation that the world's largest tower was on fire.

Rumors flew in Dubai Sunday night, as an eerie fog made it appear as if the famed Burj Khalifa were on fire.

Many locals posted pictures on social media, wondering what was happening at the world's tallest tower. Some residents claimed that ambulances and emergency services were rushing to the tower itself.

The video below circulated fast, with a man saying:"Fire, Fire."

However, the police and Burj Khalifa staff rebuffed the rumors.

The police took to Twitter to clear the air, saying that “It’s that time of year the clouds gather around Burj Khalifa and trick us. It’s just a fog, our beloved Burj Khalifa is safe."

A source in Civil Defense told Emirates 24/7 that when the temperature of the humidity outside the building reaches a certain level in comparison to the temperature inside the tower, clouds form around the tower. It is perfectly safe and can occur at this time of year.
