The Moroccan-American rapper, hip-hop artist, singer, and songwriter Karim Kharbouch, better known as French Montana, released a new music video last week, and it's all about paying homage to his home country.
The rapper visited his country of origin to shoot the video for "Famous," the latest single from his Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) gold-certified album "Jungle Rules."
Shot in Morocco's blue city, Chefchaouen, the music video is bustling with colors, country people, and of course, catchy tunes.
"This video means a lot to me!! Shot this in my motherland Morocco," French Montana, who was born and raised in Morocco, wrote on Twitter.
The video was directed by Julien Christian Lutz, known as Director X, in partnership with Samsung. It features Chefchaouen's white-washed blue homes that stand against the backdrop of the Rif Mountains.
The city is the definition of a picturesque destination, and the music video showcases that flawlessly.
Here's a glimpse:
Chefchaouen's beautiful scenery never fails to impress
50 shades of blue!
Of course, belly dancing made an appearance
As did shisha ... and tea!
The music video has drawn plenty of positive feedback online, amassing over 3.4 million views on Youtube in less than one week.
As per the social media norm, people didn't hold back commenting on the video:
