If any company needed good press last week, it was Etisalat after their social media fail and subsequent censorship scandal.

And it seems that the media gods are granting wishes, as a new report from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority found that Etisalat mobile Internet users have up to three times faster download speeds than du mobile users on 4G.

The margins were the widest when comparing 4G services, with users of Etisalat’s LTE service boasting 24,740 kilobytes per second download speeds and 2,111 kbps upload. In comparison, Du had a 8,728 kbps download speed and 943 kbps upload.

Internet browsing speeds were also faster with Etisalat at a download rate of 12,682 kbps versus Du's 7,566 kpbs.

To which, everyone else in the Middle East says, boo . With speeds that fast, we'll take du any day.
