Prominent Greek-American musician Yiannis Chryssomallis, known internationally as Yanni, announced on Facebook that he will perform at the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo on Oct. 30.

The world-renowned composer and music producer will play "The Dream Concert" at the Pyramids' light and sound theater as a part of his 2015/2016 world tour . His stop by Cairo will be his first time performing in Egypt.

Yanni is internationally celebrated for his live concerts and has performed at numerous world landmarks and historic sites around the world including China's Forbidden City, the UAE's Burj Khalifa, India's Taj Mahal, Russia's Kremlin and Lebanon's ancient city of Byblos.

In addition to the recognition the 60-year-old pianist and keyboardist gets for his live performances, he is also universally acclaimed for his unique musical sound. Yanni's music, which is described as new age music, is a combination of jazz, soft rock and classical genres with electronic music.

He is credited with popularizing the unique blend of electronic music and the sounds of a full-scale symphony orchestra. The widely popular artist has received two Grammy nominations for his albums "Dare to Dream" and "In My Time" and more than 11 of Yanni's albums have reached No. 1 in Billboard's Top New Age Album category.

Yanni is also credited with popularizing the concept of a real global artist whose music is equally appealing on every continent, as his music is influenced by ethnic sounds from cultures around the world. He has often talked about this being a reflection of his belief in music transcending borders and uniting people.
