Agriculture Minister Salah Helal successfully launched Egypt's first solar-powered ministry Tuesday, reported Egypt Independent.
The solar initiative that was implemented by the Agriculture Ministry marks the country's first steps to shift to a clean and renewable energy.
At the announcement, which included many ministers, including the minister of Planning and Electricity and the minister of Justice, Helal sad that the initiative was kick-started by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb. The initiative's purpose is to reduce the ongoing effects of climate change as well as decrease pressure on the country's power plants.
Will the other ministries follow the steps of the Agriculture Ministry of Agriculture? Or the private sector?
