Late on Sunday, Egypt officially qualified to the Russia 2018 World Cup after defeating Congo's national football team.

The match ended 2-1 in Egypt's favor.

This is the first time the country qualifies for a FIFA World Cup since 1990.

As soon as the historic win was announced, Egyptians took to the streets in celebration.

Things weren't so different online, where everyone literally had a meltdown of the sorts over the news, resulting in a few pretty hilarious reactions.
