After defeating Congo's national football team, Egypt has officially qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1990.
Egypt’s football star Mohamed Salah scored the opening goal in the game's 62nd minute. Congo equalised 8 minutes before the match was due to end.
Salah guaranteed Egypt's World Cup qualification with his second goal coming from a penalty kick during the game's last minute.
The game ended 2-1 in Egypt's favour.
Salah is now Egypt’s fifth top scorer in history with 31 international goals, surpassing Amr Zaki.
"QUALIFIED! Congratulations, Egypt!"
Egypt is the second Arab country to qualify for the 2018 World Cup after Saudi Arabia's historic win against Japan in September.
