The Egyptian Olympic Committee recently released the official uniforms for Rio’s 2016 Olympics, to nearly universal disdain. Their low quality and outdated design are no match for the nation’s largest ever Olympic delegation.

Egypt’s Olympic 2012 delegation was given official uniforms that turned out to be fake ; so fake that some of the clothes and bags had the logos of both Nike and Adidas, BBC reports. The Egyptian Olympic Committee had allegedly received the uniforms from an agent, who was sold fake Nike kits from the distributor. This year’s Olympic squad is dissatisfied with the uniforms yet again, but the EOC’s only fault this time is its lack of taste.

The EOC paid Peak Sport Products, a Chinese company, $5,000 to design, produce and ship the uniforms; however, the outcome caused an uproar among the national Olympic athletes and the Egyptian community. Egyptians haven't been shy about throwing shade at the uniforms on social media.

From genuine disappointment

"It's a shame for a great country like Egypt to show up like this, considering the number of participating athletes and the expected results"

To raw disgust

In the committee's defense, the EOC president Khaled Zein said, "Egypt made a huge achievement at the Athens Olympics, winning five medals, raising the Egyptian flag and playing the national anthem in the presence of 206 countries."

"I hope the Egyptians' pride and joy come from victory in Rio 2016, regardless of the uniforms and designs."
