Members of Dubai's royal family are no strangers to going viral on social media and things weren't so different earlier this week.

This time, it was Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum who broke the internet. He saved a group of friends who were stranded in the emirate's desert after their vehicle got stuck in the sand.

The news started circulating online after UAE-based tweep, Hanna Karen Arroyo, posted images of her and a group of friends with the UAE leader, thanking him for helping them out.

"Special thanks to H.H. Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid for being a righteous ruler of Dubai and for helping us and finally pulled us out from the sand and gave us a refreshment drink," Arroyo wrote in her tweet.

The post has since been circulating on the platform and it's now making headlines.

People are pretty impressed

"A kind gesture"

Many are hailing Sheikh Mohammed

Not the first time a Dubai royal impresses with their rescue skills

This certainly isn't the first time Sheikh Mohammed rescues people in a Dubai desert.

Earlier last year, the Dubai ruler made headlines for rescuing three cyclists who were left stranded in a desert.

And he isn't the only one in the family known for his rescue skills.

Last year, a video capturing the emirate's crown prince, Sheikh Hamdan, rescuing a lorry stuck in a Dubai desert went viral on social media, amassing thousands of views.
