On Thursday, Dubai Police officers set a new Guinness World Record by dragging an Emirates A380-800 plane over 100 meters, according to WAM.
As part of Sheikh Hamdan's Dubai Fitness Challenge, 56 officers worked together to pull the 302.68-tonne Airbus A380 over the line.
The previous record was set in Hong Kong, where 100 security officers pulled a plane weighing 218.56 tonnes over the same distance.
"The Dubai Fitness Challenge has enormously contributed to raising the culture of sport and the number of practitioners in the UAE community and has also resulted in several innovative sports activities taking place in all the locations that are witnessing a new challenge every day," said HE Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police in a Facebook statement.
"The entry into Guinness is a unique way to contribute to the Dubai Fitness Challenge. It’s part of Dubai Police's strategy to support community-based sports initiatives," Major General Al Marri added.
Major General Al Marri received the certificate from Huda Al Kassab, Records Director at Guinness World Records.
