At first it was indoor ski slopes. Now, it's an outdoor ice rink!
For all those living in Dubai, you'll no longer have to miss out on any cold weather activity as Damac is set to bring you an outdoor ice rink!
Working in collaboration with a Canadian company, the synthetic ice rink will be ready in just about three years.
For those wondering how the ice rink will survive the heat in Dubai... well it's made out of plastic!
Managing director of Damac Properties Ziad El Chaar explained that the materials being used to make the rink are easier to maintain compared to an actual rink.
“[It] is an outdoor ice rink made of materials that are exactly treated as though they were ice,” Chaar said, according to Arabian Business . “This will be ready in three years’ time.”
Regardless, you'll still get the chance to rock those ice skates... making it a real experience
Damac has not yet placed the order, but we sure hope it's settled ASAP!
“We have quotation, but we haven’t yet got to the final [stages] – it is too early to say how much it will cost," El Chaar added .
