Qatar Airways may have been ranked the best business class seat in the world last year, according to SkyTrax, but its Gulf rival Emirates just unveiled a new seat that could change that.
“Our current Boeing 777 Business Class seats are already an industry-leading premium product, and what this new seat does is to take that design and comfort to the next level. We gave the seat a fresh and modern look, retained all the existing features that our customers love and added a few more, while improving the seating and sleeping comfort,” Emirates President Tim Clark said in a press release ahead of the unveiling Thursday at ITB Berlin 2016.
The new seats are expected to make their debut in November with the delivery of new Boeing 777s.
Here's three of the business class seat's features that have StepFeed trying to figure out how to expense a business class ticket for our next flight:
1. Personal minibar
Business class may get served before the coach passengers, but sometimes that's still just not quick enough.
2. 23 inches of widescreen entertainment
Emirates is installing one of the largest inflight entertainment systems in the world. It offers a 23-inch screen and an HDMI input. Yeah, no more relying on the family friendly movie offerings – we're bringing "Deadpool" for our next flight.
3. Even more leg room
With a 72-inch pitch (the distance between identical points on two seats), that's even more space to stretch out and own the cabin. And the new seat is controlled by a touchscreen that lets you recline it to a 180-degree position, also known as a bed!
