The world-famous musical "Moulin Rouge" will be performed at the Cairo Opera House Monday and Tuesday, making it the first Broadway-style show in Egypt.

The musical has been internationally performed and adored by millions of people around the world; it was made even more popular by the Academy Award winning 2001 film "Moulin Rouge!" starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor.

The Cairo Opera House's show however is being brought to the stage by Egyptian actress and director Rewan El-Ghaba, who directed and edited the one and a half hour production along with Egyptian choreographer Sherin Hegazy.

The show, which will be staged at the Opera House's famous main hall, combines the signature musical and acting elements of the Broadway production and will be performed in English, a first for the Egyptian stage.

El-Ghaba founded El-Ghaba Productions, an independent production company for theatrical performances, with which she previously produced "The Mime Show" and "Law Aref El-Shabab" that were both played at the High Institute of Theatrical Arts in Cairo's Academy of Arts, which she graduated from.

El-Ghaba, who is currently studying cinematic directing in the United States, also appeared on the fourth season of "Arab's Got Talent" with one of her productions.
