The under-development Legoland Dubai theme park just got a splashy new feature: Legoland Water Park. Dubai Parks and Resorts announced the deal with U.K.-based Merlin Entertainment Tuesday.
The water park will include a half a million gallon wave pool, a “build-a-raft river” and an interactive Imagination Station.
"We are very pleased to partner with Merlin Entertainments to bring this unique water park concept to the UAE as an exciting new element to the Legoland Dubai theme park,” Dubai Parks and Resorts CEO Raed Al Nuaimi said, according to Arabian Business .
When first announcing the park last October, Legoland Dubai said it would "cover a total of 3 million square feet and will feature over 15,000 LEGO® model structures made from more than 60 million LEGO bricks.”
Legoland Park is park of Dubai Parks and Resort’s wider project, which the company says will be the region’s largest multi-themed entertainment center when it opens in October 2016. The project, which is in Jebel Ali off Sheikh Zayed Road, will also include Motiongate Dubai and Bollywood Parks Dubai.
In true Dubai spirit, they are going big.
