The competition between Dubai and Abu Dhabi police fleet just heated up. Dubai's snazzy force of coveted sports cars has been a favorite trending story for some time. But it looks like Abu Dhabi might just be about to outdo its rival.

The Lykan Hypersport – made internationally famous after being featured in Hollywood blockbuster " Furious 7 " – may be the latest vehicle to join the Abu Dhabi police force.

With a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine, the ability to go from 0 to 60 kph in less than three seconds and a top speed of 395 kph, it is one of the fastest cars in the world. A force to be reckoned with, it comes with a price tag of 12.5 million dirhams ($3.4 million), making it one of the most expensive cars in the world.

“We brought it into the country last week for pilot-testing,” Brig Hussain Al Harthi, director of central operations for the Abu Dhabi police, told The National .

“We haven’t bought it yet because we want to test it first to see if it fits Abu Dhabi Police’s requirements.”

The Lykan Hypersport is produced by Lebanese company W Motors, which is currently headquartered in Dubai. Founded by Ralph Debbas, the cars are currently manufactured in Turin, Italy, by Magna Steyr. Debbas plans to open a Dubai factory by January 2016.

Prior to the Lykan's arrival in Abu Dhabi, local police unveiled the addition of a Rolls-Royce Phantom with a special 999 license plate. The car will be used for special events and not regular patrols.

Dubai's police fleet still trumps Abu Dhabi's in quantity, with a Lexus RCF, a McLaren MP4-12C, an Aston Martin One-77, an Audi R8, a Bugatti Veyron, a Mercedes SLS, a BMW M6, a Lamborghini Aventador, a Ferrari FF and a Bentley Continental GT.

Still, the addition of the Lykan Hypersport to Abu Dhabi's fleet may just leave all of Dubai's fancy cars in the dust. Our money would certainly be on the Lykan in any drag race.
