"I reject discrimination against Muslim-Americans."

Those were U.S. President Barack Obama's words during an emotional farewell address in Chicago on Tuesday, and it got the interwebs stirring with reactions, particularly from Arabs.

Obama is set leave the White House on Jan. 20, when President-elect Donald Trump will officially be inaugurated and assume office.

Trump has repeatedly targeted the Muslim community in his speeches and comments, promising a Muslim ban. Obama's words stand in stark contrast to the new president's rhetoric.

On Twitter, Arabs offered their two cents.

As always, Obama proved himself to be an exceptional orator

A historic moment of epic proportions

Trump's xenophobia doesn't define all Americans

But Obama merits criticism, too

Under Obama, Arabs note, American bombs killed many innocents

Still, tears were shed

Synchronized crying: "a new American sport"

"Let's not deny how terrified people are about what's to come"

A social media revolution?

Legitimate questions were raised

Some are already anticipating Trump's farewell ...
