Foods have been crossing cultures for a millennium, bringing the world tons of amazing dishes from Italy's spaghetti, which is allegedly from China, to Ireland's potato, which was originally from South America.
But sometimes, the cross-culture pollination just doesn't work. Here are some East meets West combinations we've spotted in the Middle East that fall flat on their face.
1. Corn on pizza
Who wouldn't want buttery kernels on their doughy 'za? Shukran, but no thanks.
2. Ketchup on pizza
It doesn't really make sense now does it? We thought pizza already had tomato sauce in it.
3. Nutella and cheese crepes
Let's agree that Nutella tastes great with almost anything ... almost.
4. French fries and hummus
Because hummus is the new cool dip. For everything.
5. Spaghetti and M&M's
We like M&Ms, but it IS JUST NOT HAPPENING. Never.
6. Hot Cheetos with pudding
We can't figure out what's worse: the hot Cheetos with pudding or the hot Cheetos. Thanks America for the wonderful delicacy.
7. Grilled cheese with jam and tomato sauce
For the risk takers, you are in for a great mix.
8. Tahini Burgers
We are big fans of Middle Eastern food, but the Tahini burger is a bit too close to the Falafel for comfort.
9. Jello and mayonnaise
We're not sure about the texture, but hey, at least it looks good.
