Every Single Word, a tumblr blog that cuts mainstream films to show the amount of time non-white people speak, showed us how "American Hustle" is more racist than you think. Not only do people of color occupy less than a minute of screen time (54 seconds to be exact), but they are majorly used to portray Arabs in a stereotypical light. You know, the headdress-wearing buffoon with a lot of money. But what really makes this video ironic is the fact that Micheal Peña, who is made to impersonate an Arab, points out the racism of the operation's title "AbScam." Christian Bale, who plays the role of con man Irving Rosenfeld, dismisses this, telling him: "Are you...kidding? You're...Mexican, what do you...care?"
