Donald Trump's increasingly xenophobic and inflammatory comments against Muslims just cost him a chunk of change in the Middle East.
The U.S. Republican presidential candidate's Trump Home line of products will no longer be available through one of the region's largest home retail chains, Lifestyle. The decision was made after Trump's Monday statement calling for a ban on all Muslims entering the United States.
"As one of the most popular home decor brands in the Middle East, Lifestyle values and respects the sentiments of all its customers. In light of the recent statements made by the presidential candidate in the US media, we have suspended sale of all products from the Trump Home décor range," CEO of Lifestyle Sachin Mundhwa told Quartz .
The company has stores in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE as well as other countries. Landmark Group, a Dubai-based organization, owns Lifestyle and just partnered with Trump earlier this year to sell his branded home products.
Trump also has deals with property developers and golf courses in the Emirates.
With Trump's annual profits increasingly reliant on spenders in the Middle East, we'll see if he soon learns to stop biting the hand that feeds him. We're not holding our breath.
