Czech company Yoni recently posted a video, promoting what it calls a "revolutionary" new product ... which is really just another term for what we all know as miswak.
Yoni advertises the so-called product as a Raw Toothbrush in a video which has garnered over 1.5 million views and nearly 25,000 shares on Facebook at the time of writing.
The ad goes on to name a few benefits of using the miswak, asking people if they've heard of a "toothbrush and toothpaste" combo.
Well, considering it's a product that's been used for thousands of years, it didn't really surprise many.
Miswak is a teeth cleaning twig made from the Salvadora persica tree - a traditional and natural alternative to the modern toothbrush. It was used by the Prophet Muhammad and is frequently encouraged in the hadiths (collective records of traditions depicting the life of the prophet).
It is commonly used in many regions across the world including, but not limited to, North African countries, Malaysia, India etc.
People on social media just couldn't help but call out the brand for its failed "discovery".
