Saudi Arabia has an intensifying adoration for tall buildings, and as of late, cities are seeing skyscrapers being developed in every corner.
They rise hundreds of feet above the ground, shaping their respective city’s skylines with modern marvels of engineering.
As the kingdom is soon set to be home to the >world's tallest building, the Jeddah Tower, we thought we'd give you some info on the current tallest in each major Saudi city.
1. The Headquarters Business Park Tower, Jeddah
Jeddah's tallest building, rising at a height of about 240 meters above ground, is a commercial tower that has become an Instagram favorite. The helipad on top just amplifies the beauty of this supertall structure.
As it's located right by the Jeddah Waterfront, many office spaces inside offer expansive views of the Red Sea. This is one office space where we wouldn't mind spending those long working hours.
2. Capital Market Authority Tower, Riyadh
Riyadh is a skyscraper hub, housing one of the largest number of skyscrapers in the region.
The Capital Market Authority Headquarters in the King Abdullah Financial District is the centerpiece of this new financial center that is brimming with these several hundred-meter long buildings.
This lofty tower stands at a height of a colossal 385 meters.
3. Dhahran Tower, Al Khobar/Dammam/Dhahran
Though the Dhahran Tower is not in the top 10 list of the tallest buildings in the country, it is the tallest in the entire Eastern Province. It consists of 46 floors with a total height of around 200 meters.
Also called the Suwaiket Tower, the rectilinear building houses luxurious flats and is filled with state-of-art facilities.
4. Heart of Taif Tower, Taif
In the heart of the city, this soaring tower houses a high-end hotel and is bridged with Taif Heart Mall.
The building is pretty much linear, save for a sporadic disc-like floor that decks its top. It is approximately 150 meters tall and offers amazing views of the surrounding landscape that Taif is famous for.
5. Makkah Clock Royal Tower, Mecca
Currently the tallest building in the country, it holds many other records as well, including those of being the tallest clock tower in the world and housing the world's largest clock face.
This skyscraper is located right next to the Masjid Al Haram in Mecca and dominates the city's skyline, standing at an impressive 601 meters. In fact, from the major roads that lead to Mecca, one can see the structure from miles away, long before entering the city.
