A young woman has now become the first-ever Saudi to be hired by social media giant Facebook.
Samar Abdul Mohsen Al Sultan beat thousands of applicants from all around the world and is now heading one of the company's departments, with a role that sees her advising small and medium enterprises on how they can use Facebook to advance their business.
Speaking to Sayidaty Magazine, the young woman expressed her excitement over the new role and spoke of the long application process she went through.
An incredible success story
In her interview with Sayidaty, Al Sultan said her education and previous work experiences gave her the confidence to apply for roles at several giant tech companies in the United States.
She explained that she underwent seven interviews before she received the news of her hiring.
The young woman, who graduated from Ireland's prestigious Trinity University with a Master's degree in International Trade and Economics, also recently got a job offer from Google, but turned it down in favor of her current role.
Outside of her new job, Al Sultan is also the successful entrepreneur behind "The Furniture Element", an online furniture retail company.
